Our Philosophy of Youth Ministry

According to a 2016 Pew Research Poll, 56% of adults choosing a church to attend cite youth programs as being a key component of their decision. This has led many churches to create and sustain large youth ministries with the intention of attracting potential members.

While there is nothing wrong with having a solid children's ministry, CCF does not adopt this philosophy of attractional church growth. While we want our children to have fun, we desire more for the Spirit of God to awaken them, transform them, and equip them.  Our aim is to teach our children the Word of God and prepare their hearts to love King Jesus.
Therefore, we do not coerce “decisions” or simply entertain them with games. Rather, we seek to give them a robust, theological foundation upon which they are able to build a life-long walk of faith.

Moreover, we believe that parents should be equipped with the tools and resources necessary to train and shepherd their children (Eph 6:1-4). Therefore, we don’t view youth ministry as a means to attract a crowd, rather we see it as an opportunity to edify families by providing them resources and encouraging their faith.

Our philosophy in practice

Wednesday Night Covenant Kids

Wednesday evenings are a time of fellowship and teaching. The kids will do their lesson, play games, win prizes, and throw an occasional pizza party.

Outings & Adventures

Whether it's going camping or going to the Ark Experience in KY, we're up for the adventure!

Vacation Bible School

Every year in June CCF hosts Vacation Bible School. Links will be posted on the website for registration ahead of the event.

Family Integration

We feel strongly that children ought to join their parents during corporate worship. While we offer nursery care for younger children (ages 5 and under), we encourage parents to engage their children during worship by using tools and resources that help train children for worship.
